A different perspective on pain
Pain is not purely physical. The brain, nervous system, stress and emotional factors all influence how pain is experienced and maintained.
Hypnotherapy offers a structured and evidence-informed way of working with chronic and stress related pain.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, this approach helps to:
-
Calm the body’s stress response
-
Reduce patterns of tension and reactivity
-
Change how pain is processed and experienced
This allows your body to break out of the cycle of pain and reactivity.
About
A medically informed approach
After 20 years as a Consultant Anaesthetist, I developed a deep understanding of how pain is managed in clinical settings.
While medical treatments can be highly effective, I saw that many people continued to experience ongoing pain that could not be fully explained or resolved.
This led me to train in hypnotherapy and specialise in the mind–body aspects of pain.
How I work
My approach to hypnotherapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual.
I draw on Ericksonian indirect hypnotherapy techniques, working with the mind in a respectful, flexible, and responsive way.
Your safety and well-being are always my highest priority.
I offer a short programme of 4-6 sessions, where we work together to create genuine and enduring change.
My chronic pain recovery programme is designed to help you:
-
Rewire your response to pain
-
Reset your relationship with pain
-
Ease underlying stress and emotional patterns.
